This creamy, rich smoked salmon chowder is filled with tender chunks of potato and bites of savory smoked salmon. Serve it with some crusty bread for an easy and delicious meal that your whole family will love.
Ingredients
- One 6 ounce can of Fisherman's Market Smoked Silver (or Chinook) Salmon
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, diced
- 1 cup diced red potatoes
- 1/4 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2+ teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme
- 6 ounces half & half

Let's Make It!
Step 1 Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat
Step 2 Sauté onion, celery and garlic until onions are tender
Step 3 Stir in potatoes, carrots, broth, salt, pepper and thyme. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat; cover and simmer, about 20 minutes
Step 4 Drain salmon and break pieces to desired size; add salmon and half & half to the pot; cook until heated
Step 5 Scoop into bowls and ENJOY!
Suggested Pairing Serve with a pint of your favorite lager and crusty bread or crackers
